Do you like chocolate and especially the tasty Belgian Chocolate? In Bruges, you will certainly find something to your liking. The most experienced chocolatiers are located in the centre of Bruges, which is within walking distance of our hotel Karel de Stoute.
The Katelijnestraat is famous for its small, quaint chocolate shops where the smell of chocolate welcomes you. The “Brugsch Swaentje” (the Brugean Swan), a speciality, is a praline made by traditional methods and with Belgian quality chocolate. It is the official city praline and the recipe is top secret. The known ingredients are almond praline, gruut (a mix of spices used for brewing beer) and Bruges lace biscuits.
The Chocolate museum
Do you want to learn more about this chocolate city? You certainly need to pay a visit to the chocolate museum, Choco-Story. The museum gives you the possibility to admire the museum pieces, to consult a vast library containing works on cocoa and chocolate and if you wish, to talk about chocolate with experts!
